The problem: Google Webmaster Tools allows for website owners to identify and remedy potential SEO issues. A problem we run into is that we often fix crawl errors such as 404 errors but it can take Webmaster Tools weeks to reflect these changes so a lot of times there really isn’t any error at all, it just hasn’t updated yet. This can be especially challenging if Google Webmaster Tools is saying that you have several hundred or thousands of potential “404 errors”.
Another challenge we faced was when we searched online for tools that could check hundreds or thousands of URLs at one time, there was slim pickings. Most sites only allowed us to check the 404 status of a single URL. We did find this tool that allows you to check 25 links at a time, which is definitely better, but still wasn’t good enough.
